Pat Brings smile to Willie’s face.

31st August, 2011

Carlow Fine Gael TD Pat Deering brought a smile to one mans face in Borris last Monday night.

When Pat read in a recent copy of the Nationalist of Willie Hayes bad luck when thugs broke into his home stealing the cash he had saved to go towards the cost of keeping his wife in the nearby nursing home, they also made off with his wifes engagement and wedding rings and all the other bits of jewellery she had gathered over her long life, these are of huge sentimental value to Willie and the rest of the family. Pat discussed the matter with local Councillor Tommy Kinsella. Knowing of Willies great love of hurling and his fondness for the Black & Amber they thought that a day out in Croke Park would ease the pain. Last Monday night in the Step House in Borris Pat presented Willie with two Cusack Stand Tickets, they were well received and as long as there was no apparent support for Tipp they could have stayed there for the evening. “It was great to meet Willie smile and I’m glad if this cheered him up any  little bit” said Pat.

Pictured with Willie are Tommy Kinsella, his Grandson Seamus and Pat Deering TD.
