Carlow and Waterford TD’s meet at IT Carlow.

Carlow Fine Gael TD, Pat Deering and his Waterford counterpart Paudie Coffey TD met with IT Carlow President, Patricia Mulcahy, Chairperson of the Board of Governors’, John Moore, and Secretary / Financial Controller IT Carlow, Cormac O’Toole, in the Carlow Institute on Thursady 1st March.

Both TD’s are very much in favour of pushing ahead with the amalgamation of IT Carlow and Waterford IT to become ‘The Technological University of the South East’. This is the first time an elected represented from Waterford has visited IT Carlow and it is hoped that their combined efforts will help move the process closer to completion.

Deputy Pat Deering said “I welcome Paudie Coffey to Carlow and especially to IT Carlow, I see this as a positive move and I’m confident that with both Colleges and Public Representatives from both Counties working together this will happen very soon, which would be an excellent outcome to this long running debate, it would be good news for all concerned”
