13,642 New Jobs created by Irish Exporting companies in 2012

Highest Net Jobs Gain (3,804) since 2006

73% of the jobs gains have been located in areas outside the Dublin/Mid-East Region,

After significant job losses in the exporting sector in 2008, 2009 and 2010 these results for 2012 mark a significant improvement in this crucial part of the economy.

Enterprise Ireland companies supporting more than 300,000 jobs in the Irish economy and have an economic impact (spend) in the local economy of more than €18BN per annum.

New job commitments in 2012 of more than 7,000 (target 6,250) which is feeding the jobs pipeline over the coming 2-3 years.

Enterprise Ireland supported largest ever Research and Development investment (€100m) by an Irish company (Kerry Global Food Innovation Centre of Excellence in Naas) with 900 jobs)

Enterprise Ireland delivered on 105 actions under the Action Plan for Jobs 2012 from a total of 270 actions including;

· a new Potential Exporters Department,

· a Global Sourcing programme for Irish companies,

·  new Micro Enterprise Division,

· Diaspora Initiatives,

· a scheme to target International Entrepreneurs and another to promote greater Female Entrepreneurship

· an aggressive programme of 16 Ministerial level trade missions targeting new growth markets for Irish companies.
