110 New Jobs at MSD in Carlow Town – Deering

15th February, 2016

Carlow Fine Gael TD., Pat Deering, has welcomed the announcement today of 110 new jobs at MSD in Carlow Town.

“I have been informed by MSD that they are creating 200 new jobs which will be filled before the end of 2016. 110 of these jobs will be at the MSD site in Carlow town.

“This announcement is not only good news for Carlow, but is a sign of the continued economic recovery throughout the country. These are high quality jobs in a high tech company which is providing a significant vote of confidence in Carlow Town. This will bring the total number employed at MSD Carlow to 550.

“The new roles span Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial Operations and today’s announcement reflects the critical role MSD’s Irish sites play in their wider global manufacturing network.

“Fine Gael has a long term economic plan designed to keep the recovery going which will ensure we can continue to make these kinds of investments. The plan has three steps: more and better jobs, making work pay more than welfare, and investment in better public services, which will only be possible as a result of the increased revenue generated by creating more jobs. This plan will ensure that more people feel the benefits of a recovering economy in their own lives.”
