Great to see Ballinacarrig Roundabout in full swing – DEERING.

20th May, 2016

Carlow Fine Gael TD., Pat Deering, has expressed his delight at seeing the long awaited Ballinacarrig Roundabout in full swing.

“Today (Friday 20th May) is the first day for the new Ballinacarrig Roundabout to be in full use. This long awaited project has been on the cards for some time and will be of great benefit to all those who use the Wexford Road (N80) and the adjacent Industrial Estate. More than 10,000 vehicles use this road every day.

“Funding was approved by the NRA in 2012 but the land required wasn’t under the control of Carlow County Council at the time. In February 2015 when then Transport Minister, Paschal Donohoe TD, visited Carlow I arranged a meeting between him and officials from the council and we impressed upon him the importance of the project to the town and I was therefore very pleased when less than weeks later he confirmed that the project was to go ahead immediately.

” I would like to thank all involved, Carlow County Council, the Contractors and Management teams and all who worked on the project. I would especially like to thank the public for their patience while the work was going on, it was very difficult at times, but now that it’s finished I’m sure we can all agree it was worth while.
