Funding for Tinryland Park & Myshall Muintir Na Tire under Local Diaspora Engagement Fund – DEERING.

Carlow Fine Gael TD, Pat Deering, has welcomed the announcement of €3,500 in funding for two local organisations, Tinryland Park & Myshall Muintir Na Tire, under the Local Diaspora Engagement Fund. The funding was announced by Minister of State for the Diaspora and Overseas Aid, Joe McHugh.

“I am delighted that Carlow is receiving funding under the Local Diaspora Engagement Fund in 2016.Tinryland Park has been approved for €2,500 and Myshall Muintir Na Tire €1,000. I congratulate both organisations for their successful applications to this fund. They undertake great work on behalf of their communities.

“The Local Diaspora Engagement Fund is designed to promote diaspora engagement at a county, local and community level – in line with the objectives of Global Irish: Ireland’s Diaspora Policy published by Government in March 2015.

“The recipients of the fund will be able to use the grants for diverse range of projects including genealogy projects, networking and media initiatives, as well as literary and cultural events involving the diaspora.”
