Deering welcomes funding for works in Carlow schools

Fine Gael TD for Carlow, Pat Deering, has welcomed the announcement by Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton TD, that local schools St Marys Knockbeg; Bigstone National School, Rathvilly and Myshall National School- Scoil Fhoirtcheirn and Fhinn Naofa areto receive funding for Emergency Works.Deputy Deering stated “St Marys Knockbeg; Bigstone National School, Rathvilly and Myshall National School- Scoil Fhoirtcheirn and Fhinn Naofahave been approved for funding under the Emergency Works Scheme, which will allow them to carry out works on structural improvements and roof repairs.”

Deering added “Each school is being contacted directly by the Department of Education’s School Building Unit with details on the relevant projects and the funding amounts awarded. “Fine Gael in Government is determined to ensure that our recovering economy can benefit everyone in society. Our children should be number one on this priority list and it is really important that they can learn in a safe and modern environment. I am delighted that local schools in Carlow are to receive this vital funding for upgrade works.”
