€20,000 capital grant for CRYS will benefit young people in Carlow – DEERING

10th August, 2016

Carlow Fine Gael TD, Pat Deering, has said that a €20,000 capital grant for Carlow Regional Youth Services (CRYS) will benefit young people in Carlow.

“The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs has announced capital grants for 86 youth projects and organisations around the country and I am delighted that the CRYS is to receive €20,000 in funding. This capital grant will really boost the services of CRYS and so will be of great benefit to young people in Carlow.

“CRYS with it’s head office in Montgomery House on the Athy Road has been allocated €20,000 for the purchase of equipment and fittings for the Carlow Graiguecullen Youth Project and New Oak / Tullow Road Youth Project.

“Youth projects and organisations such as CRYS play a crucial role in supporting young people throughout the country. It is hugely important that the Government continues to acknowledge their work and provide funding so that they can maintain and in some cases expand their services.

“We are working hard in Government to ensure that our recovering economy is used in the right way. This means making sure that everyone benefits, particularly vulnerable people or those who need extra support.”
