19th May, 2011

Carlow Fine Gael TD, Pat Deering, has this week welcomed the Government’s announcement that it is to allocate €5m to be spent on unfinished housing estates around the country. This money will be spent primarily on making unfinished estates safe, work such as levelling and raising roads to finish level with man hole covers and gullies, and installing lights, will get priority. This will be done in conjunction with Carlow and other Local Authorities coming down hard on developers and drawing down bonds where possible. The work will start on Category 4 estates, some of the Carlow fifteen Category 4 estates will have this work started soon.
