€43,000 for Carlow healthcare organisations – DEERING.

28th October, 2015

Over 70 healthcare and social care organisations are set to receive funding of over €1.2 million under the latest round of National Lottery Grants from the Department of Health.

“This funding will make a significant difference in the provision of healthcare services in Carlow”, says local Fine Gael TD., Pat Deering.

“The Minister for Health, Leo Varadkar today (Wednesday) announced that three healthcare-related and social care services in Carlow will receive a total of €43,000 under the latest round of National Lottery Grants.

“This the second announcement this year, in which the Department of Health provides once-off grants to organisations for healthcare-related and social care services.

“Some of the local organisations set to receive funding include: St. Lazerian’s House, Bagenalstown (€30,000), Tullow Day Care Centre (€9,000) and Talk It Over, Carlow (€4,000). St Lazerian’s in Bagenalstown have been fund raising for a number of years and this allocation will greatly boost their finances.

“This funding will make a real difference to groups, volunteers and of course their clients in these communities. The grants will help to provide equipment, upgrade facilities and provide health-related services.

“The applications for the 2016 Department of Health National Lottery Grants will open in January 2016.”
